Blokus
$25.00
Released January, 2000
The Pros:Games last a good amount of time - not too long or short. Easy game to add handicap rules to balance out new players. Good amounts of strategy and allying dynamics.
Blokus is an abstract strategy board game in which 2-4 players take turns strategically placing colored, Tetris-like pieces on to the grid of the game board. Pieces are not allowed to lie adjacent to any of your own pieces, but rather must be placed so that they touch at least one corner of your already played pieces.

The player with the fewest remaining pieces after no player is able to play any further is the winner. Receive bonus points for using all of your pieces, however this is a very difficult task.
Blokus, which has won numerous awards, was invented by a French-Canadian artist and engineer after being inspired by a painting. The proper pronounciation has been debated, but the official response is that it's pronounced "Block-kus" and not "Blow-kus". Goto blokus.com and play online against the computer and compete for the title of world's best.

Erik:
#blokus I got this game for Christmas, and am absolutely hooked. (Actually, I have Blokus Duo, the 2 player version). There is a heck of a lot of strategy, and once you start playing, you quickly realize that the possibilities of gameplay are limitless. (I know, it's finite, but it might as well be infinite)
